Maidontuoja / The Milkwoman
A performance in the Sinebrychoff tower, Helsinki,
at Bloomsday 2014,
organised by Tuntematon kaupunki and
curated by Erkki Soininen
Bloomsday is the 16th of June commemorating the novel Ulysses by James Joyce. Ulysses discribes June 16
in Leopold Bloom's, the main character's, life in Dublin in 1904.
The milkwoman brought milk to the tower where the young men were living, at eight in the mourning.
I climbed the stairs with white light under my dress, followed by the participating guests, and served them milk upstairs,
at eight in the mourning.
